Fees & Resources

Course fees through Open University are $366 per unit. Below are additional mandatory and circumstantial fees:

Mandatory

$30.62 consolidated course fee (once per semester/term).
$4.89 Student ID Card fee (once per semester/term).

Circumstantial

Non-refundable 2.65% merchant fee for credit/debit card payments. There is no charge for E-Check (ACH) payments.
$25 late registration fee (per transaction).
$25 per returned checks, refuted credit card payment, or E-Check (ACH) return.
Non-refundable class fees for materials and services may apply to selected courses.

All fees are due in full at the time of enrollment, unless approved under some other agreement through EIP Finance. You will be subject to enrollment cancellation (without notice) if fees are not paid in full at the time of enrollment. Take time to review the fees owed & refund policies below. If you are administratively disenrolled within the early enrollment/drop period, because you did not pay fees when you registered, you will still owe 35% of the total fees, and a financial hold will be placed on your record until that balance is paid. The enrollment action you completed is reserving a space in a course section and fees are expected to be paid in full at the time of registration

You may drop a course within the drop periods indicated by semester/term in the Manage Classes tile in your Student Homepage. If you do not officially drop, your grade will result in a WU (unauthorized withdrawal) which is equal to a failing grade. Refer to the Dates & Details for the semester/term you are enrolled.
During the Late Withdrawal Period for the term you are enrolled, complete the Request for Late Withdrawal Process online by the deadlines designated. If approved, a W grade is issued.
There is a time period within each term, where you may swap a course. Refer to Dates & Details for the term you are enrolled.

Refunds are based on the date the drop is completed. Unpaid fees still owed are also based on the date the drop is completed.

Not attending a class, notifying the instructor, stopping payment on a check/credit card or failure to redeem a check that was returned for non-sufficient funds does not constitute officially dropping the course, or release you from the financial obligation to pay the course fees. Dropping the course does not dismiss the financial obligation to pay the course fees.

If courses were paid with a credit card, refunds will be processed back to the credit card within 7–10 business days. If paid by money order, E-Check (ACH), or personal check, the refund is returned by a check in the mail (allow 4-6 weeks for processing), or through an enrolled direct deposit account.

Important Note: The 2.65% merchant fee charged for payments made with credit/debit cards is not refundable and will be withheld from the refund total.

SPRING & FALL SEMESTER

FEES OWED & REFUND POLICIES:

If you drop before the first day of the semester, you will receive a full refund of fees paid minus $10 per course.
If you drop on, or after the start of the semester, but within the early enrollment/drop period, you will receive a refund of 65% of fees if paid in full.
If you are administratively disenrolled within the early enrollment/drop period, because you did not pay fees when you registered, you will still owe 35% of the total fees, and a financial hold will be placed on your record until that balance is paid. The enrollment action you completed is reserving a space in a course section and fees are expected to be paid in full at the time of registration.
If you drop during the late withdrawal period ("W" grade) through the designated late enrollment date, you will receive a refund of 65% of fees paid.
During the late withdrawal period, drops are only allowed for serious and compelling reasons. An approved Withdrawal Petition completed at Late Withdrawal Process is required and no refunds are given.

WINTER & SUMMER SESSION

Additional Resources

Students receive a Campus Wide Identification (CWID) number when they Create A Student Record. Your CWID will be used in place of your Social Security Number to identify all your records. You will also need your CWID the first time you log into the CSUF Student Portal. If you have applied or attended CSUF previously, then you already have an existing CWID. Returning to CSUF? Use What’s My CWID? to recall your CWID.

The Personal Identification Number (PIN) is a password that students use the first time they log into the CSUF Student Portal. Approximately, 24 hours after creating a student record, you will recieve a PIN to the email address provided in record creation. Use your CWID in combination with your PIN as the temporary username and password to login for the first time into the CSUF Student Portal, then customize your account and personalize the username and password.

The CSUF Student Portal provides access to your confidential information (where you can look up grades, units, classes taken, etc.). EIP students who lose or misplace a PIN may go to the “What’s My Registration PIN?” page of the Student Portal.

Daily permits can be purchased from machines located in Lots A, G, S, and Arts Drive, as well as the Nutwood, State College and Eastside parking structures.
Daily permits are valid in student lots and parking structures, unless restricted. For more information contact Parking & Transportation Services.
Student semester permits are also available for purchase from Parking & Transportation .
Park & Pay provides short-term parking for $4 per hour. Each location has a posted maximum time limit of either 1 or 2 hours, which will be strictly enforced. Semester/Term Permits are not valid in Park & Pay. Park & Pay machines accept Discover, MasterCard and Visa, as well as $1 and $5 bills.
