REGISTER

Registration Instructions

All students must meet and acknowledge all stated prerequisites for class choices. Some academic departments may ask to see transcripts. The process to register through Open University Enrollment in the Spring and Fall semesters is different from the process for the Summer Session and Intersession academic terms.

In any term, admitted CSUF students have the opportunity to enroll in classes prior to the start of registration for Open University Enrollment. Always review the academic schedule for the term you are interested in attending.

Spring and Fall Semesters

Spring and Fall Semesters

Registration through Open University in Spring and Fall semesters is a request permission to add process (usually in person) at the start date of each semester.

Summer Session and Intersession Terms

Summer Session and Intersession Terms

Summer Session and Intersession terms have an early online registration period that becomes available on this website for open class sections. This early registration period begins in November for the upcoming Intersession term and in April for the upcoming Summer term.

Registration for Spring and Fall Semesters

General Instructions

  • Go to www.fullerton.edu/schedule to view the University schedule of classes.
  • Select the academic term you wish to view (e.g. Spring 2018).
  • Select “Undergraduate" as the course career for any 100-400 level classes or “Postbaccalaureate” as the course career for any 500-level courses.
  • Uncheck “Show only open classes” to view all sections of a course (open, closed, or wait-listed).
  • You may request to add class sections displaying as closed or wait-listed. If you get approval for that section, you can be added if there is physical space to do so. Registrations for approved wait-listed sections cannot be processed until Monday of week two of the semester.

Steps for Enrollment

  1. Complete the Open University Registration form, which includes listing your course choice(s) (e.g. BIOL 101). Be sure to sign the middle disclaimer on the registration form.
  2. If you do not already have a CSUF Student Record and CWID, please contact UEE Student Services to get a record created. Call (657) 278-2611 or visit the office in person.
  3. Do not initially list the 5-digit class number (which is the section of the course), in the event you may attend more than one section of a course; but do fill that number in once you have permission to add a specific section.
  4. Meet or consult with one of the Open University advisors to obtain a signature prior to the start of the semester. You do not have to wait until the first week of classes to obtain this signature. If necessary, you may obtain the signature by scanning and submitted a completed registration form to an Open University advisor.
  5. Indicate why you are taking the course(s) and disclose whether you are an academically disqualified CSUF student.
  6. Attend the first class meeting of the course section at the start of the term to obtain instructor signature.
  7. Obtain the Academic Department stamp.
  8. Submit forms and make payment to University Extended Education Student Services (College Park 100)

Online Format Classes

Online Format Classes
  • If a course section is “web” format, please contact the Academic Department of the course one week prior to the first day of the semester about how to obtain instructor and department approval. It could require you to send an email request to the instructor of record and attach that to the Open University Registration form.
  • Submit the completed Open University Registration form to UEE Student Services in College Park 100 to register and pay fees by the deadlines indicated. If you must submit the form electronically, please contact UEE Student Services at (657) 278-2611.

Registration for Summer Session and Intersession

Steps for Enrollment

  1. Consult with an Open University advisor, as needed.
  2. If a course section displays as open, you can enroll online at this website on or after the designated early registration date by clicking on the “Register” button in the right hand corner. That button is not activated until the designated dates in November for Intersession and in April for the upcoming Summer term.
  3. If a section displays as closed or wait-listed, you may monitor the status of the course to see if it becomes available during the early registration period and still register online.
  4. If the class section remains closed/wait-listed through its start date, take a completed Open University Registration form to the first class meeting (or directly to an instructor—if a web class) to request permission. A stamp from the academic department is also required.
