Important Intersession Dates and Deadlines

Cal State Fullerton’s 2017 Intersession offers two sessions: a five-week session from December 17 – January 20, and a three-week session from January 3 – January 20.

Below you’ll find the important dates and deadlines you’ll need to know before you register. For instructions on registering, visit our Register page.   • Last day to register online and without the instructor’s signature and department stamp.

Last day to drop with no record of enrollment


  • Receive a full refund, less $10 per course.
  • Classes cannot be dropped online.

Late Registration Period (must be done in-person in CP-100):


  • Registering requires the registration form, approvals and $25 late fee.
  • Switching a class within the same session requires the Course Request Change form, approval to add and $35 switch fee.

Drop Period:


  • Dropping a class without a grade of “W” to receive a 65% refund, contact the UEE Student Services office. No approvals required.
  • Change a grade option requires a $10 fee

Last day to Drop without “W”:


  • Drop a class without a grade of “W” and receive a 65% refund, submit the Course Request Change form or contact the UEE Student Services office. No approvals required.
  • Drops cannot be done online. Drops must be done in person or by phone.

Last day to withdraw with a grade of "W" and receive a 65% refund


  • No refunds after this date.

Campus Closed: Saturday, December 24 thru Monday, January 2 and Monday, January 16

  • Note: In-person classes will not meet on Friday, December 23. In-person and online classes may have online activities during the campus closure.

Open University 101

  • Academically disqualified (DQ) students may not enroll in more than six (6) units during Fall, Spring and Summer terms.
  • Registration is on a space-available basis.
  • Only the first 24 units of credit taken through Open University enrollment may count toward the cumulative units required for a bachelor’s degree at CSUF.
  • Courses taken through Open University enrollment cannot be used to fulfill any of the residence requirements for a bachelor’s degree at CSUF (30 units for the degree; 24 units in upper division courses). For graduate degrees, normally 6 to 9 units of approved credits taken through Open University may apply, but for degrees which require more than 30 units, more units of credit may apply. Please consult the department graduate advisor of your program.
